This is a great way to conserve on resources as you can save up the "scraps" which in reality are some of the most nutritious parts of the vegetables and protein foods that we eat or essentially don't eat because we usually throw them away. You essentially save all your craps in a freezer safe bag through the week and use them to make your mineral and glutamine rich broth. This is great for healing the lining of the gastro-intestinal tract and recovering from illness.
