Foundational Eating

...its more than just food

For Adequate Digestion and Assimilation Consider the following:

​

  • Adequate Sleep: at least 6 hours daily

  • Oxygen and Conscious Energy (take a breath and a moment to reflect just before eating).  See the link below on how to grow clean air.

  • Water

  • Identification and Avoidance of Allergenic foods (can take up to 4 days for these allergies to present themselves after allergenic food is ingested); (Tell Tell Signs – gas, indigestion,  brain fog, irritability, mood changes, eczema, skin rashes, general muscle aches and pains).

  • Good Quality Protein (From Animals - Red meat, organ meat, fish, eggs, game, organic animal’s milk and or nut and bean milks) and (From vegetables – beans, lentils, nuts and seeds). Hormone and Antibiotic Free is Key for animal protein.

  • Nutrient Dense easily digested grains (rice, quinoa, millet, gluten-free oats, kasha; If there is no food allergy or sensitivity – wheat, pasta, barley, oats, kamut, spelt)

  • Essential Fatty Acids and Healthy Fats  (non-rancid fats and oils, nuts, seeds)

  • Dark Green Leafy Vegetables and Grasses (Kale, Collards, Mustard, Dandelion Greens, barley grass, wheat grass, oat grass; cilantro, parsley, lettuces)

  • Colorful Vegetables  (red, yellow, orange peppers, carts, sweet potatoes, red cabbage,)

  • Sulfur Rich Vegetables (garlic, onions, cabbage, leeks, broccoli)

  • Liver Tonic / Detoxifying Vegetables

  • Small quantities of Seeded low sugar high fiber fruits  and super foods(Berries, Apples, Pears, Lemons and Limes) (super foods – goji/lychee/wolf berries, acai)

  • Adequate Hydrochloric acid and Live Enzymes and Probiotics via fermented condiments and beverages (kombucha, kimchi, sauerkraut) or supplementation or supplementation as needed

  • Mineral Bone Broths (daily, weekly or monthly intake of mineral rich bone broth) to support general health as a food source of minerals, glucosamine and chondroitin, amino acids and GI healing subtances.

  • Must Haves:  Adequate Vitamins, Minerals, Essential  Fatty Acids, Antioxidants / Anti-inflammatory foods

  • Additional Supplementation of the above may be needed: (these are particularly useful if there is suspected Gastro-intestinal intolerances that diminish absorption of major nutrients)

  • Most ideal – food based vitamin and mineral supplements sourced from herbs and food. Avoid synthetic vitamins.

  • Multivitamin with dosages based on body weight

  • Additional fulvic minerals with dosage based on body weight

  • Essential Fatty Acids (Good Quality Cod Liver Oil)

  • Antioxidant formulas (supper foods)

  • Probiotics

  • Digestive Pancreatic Enzymes with hydrochloric acid, pepsin and bile salts

  • Use of an elimination diet may be needed along with adherence to gluten, casein free and or specific carbohydrate diet.

As you can see, the grains group is missing.  Feel free to add in easily digested grains as this pyramid is not set in stone but rather a tool to get you thinking about your proportions of food in your daily intake.
